A fun, free form class exploring mixed media painting techniques while learning and employing the fundamentals of design. Lessons include the use of balance, rhythm, texture, and color schemes in designing a composition. Step by step demonstrations of techniques using both traditional and non-traditional mediums will be followed with the opportunity to employ the techniques in your own designs.
Focus on working with acrylic glazing and cracking effects.

Amie has a BA in Studio Art and an MFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and DesignSCAD). She was an art educator for over 10 years, including teaching for Savannah College of Art and Design from 2006-2015. She has illustrated 12 children’s books, including the Spenser Nation series. Her work has also been seen in magazines, products, packaging, advertising, apparel, and galleries. Today Amie’s work includes metal sculpture, painting, and artisan furniture and décor.
