Join us in the great hall of the Museum at Prairiefire on Wednesday, July 19th for Science Happy Hour!

Come learn about prairie fires and how fire is many times been beneficial to the landscape, including how fire shaped the world we live in today.

TJ was born in Kansas City, MO and lived there until 4th grade when he and his family moved out to Kearney/Holt suburban area, where he graduated high school. In HS he participated in football, wrestling, and Science Olympiad. He went to College at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville Missouri where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Middle School Science Education. Go Bearcats!

His first job was teaching High School science in Trenton Missouri and he soon got his Master of Educational Administration, while coaching football, and Science Olympiad. In 2005 his dream job opened at the Missouri Department of Conservation, Outdoor Skills Specialist. He was able to teach hunting and fishing, paddle sports, and so many other outdoor skills to schools and the public. He has been an Education District Supervisor, supervising the field staff of the Kansas City and Northwest regions in Missouri for 14 years.

His hobbies are Hiking, paddling, fishing, tying flies, blade smithing and wood working.
